09 Masterclass with Jefferson Tshabalala - Writing and Performance pt 2
In this episode of African Couch Potato: The Mash-up, Gino continues chatting to Jefferson Tshabalala: renowned writer, director, theatre and screen performer as well as the 2020 Standard Bank Young Artist for Theatre winner.
In this second Masterclass, Jefferson discusses performance and how to truly get the best version of a script, a play or a character - both on stage and on-screen.
The first part kicks off with sex scenes and how to handle them, then, completely separately, a look at how improv and workshopping can tighten a performance.
Later, Jefferson opens up on how he gets into character for a role, his thoughts on child actors and how talent needs nurturing, as well as how the written word is never the finished product. All this and more from the Delivery Man in Netflix's Big Nunu's Little Heist.
